Angel Campaign

We believe in Angels. And so do the families in our community that rely on the Rotary Home’s respite services. To these families, you, the donors, are angels for making it possible for them to enjoy a break from time to time from the demanding routine of caring for their loved ones with severe disabilities.

The children and young adults who visit the Home are also little Angels who despite their disabilities bring incredible joy and love to their families. That is why year the staff of the Ottawa Rotary Home select one of our children or young adults to be the Rotary Home Angel for the coming year.*  The Angel and their family act as Rotary Home representatives for their reigning year sharing their unique story with others.

If you are a parent, you can relate to the scenario above, but what if your child was twenty-two, and you still needed that baby monitor, still woke up in the middle of the night to change, feed, or soothe him or her?

This is the reality for many families caring for an adult child with a physical disability. These families lovingly care for their children, but sometimes… read more.

Home for the Holidays... It is a phrase brings a different image to each of us... joyous childhood memories retold over a shared meal, the house warm with the smell of roasting turkey and sugar cookies or turning up on the doorstep when Mom and Dad were sure that they’d not see you this year.  At The Ottawa Rotary Home, we want our family reunited too... read more

Angel Campaign 2008

We all have that person in our lives who makes us laugh when we thought it was beyond us, that folds us into their arms to comfort and listens without judgment. Sometimes, friends, family or colleagues give a gift of self so extraordinary that it humbles us. I want to tell you a story about such a group of people... read more

Our 2006 Angel Brett
Angel Brett "Brett has been a part of the Rotary Home family or, perhaps I should say, the Rotary Home has been a huge and very important part of our family, for over eleven years. Now, I cannot imagine our lives without the wonderful, caring staff.

Please support the Angel Campaign. Keep Brett and our family, along with the other Rotary Home children, smiling. Our families would be incomplete without the love of the Rotary Home family."
